About

Many years ago, when I was at secondary school thinking about what I wanted to do when I grew up, the ideas that flooded in my head were amongst others to become a soldier!
My dad had been in the army, I had heard many stories as a child and it sounded exciting and interesting, I became an Army Cadet at 13 to see what it could be all about, and I loved it. I loved to shoot, target practice was something I looked forward to every time. The drill was ok and looking smart was good fun as well, but it was all the other aspects about becoming a soldier, where I began too learn about myself, that I really valued.
Eventually I was faced with choices before leaving school with my O Level results. I was not to keen on spending the next 3-4 years at college then Uni, I wanted to see something of life, earn some money and have fun. I decided that I would become a chef!!
I understood I could travel the world, I would need to speak another language “French” but I could see the possibilities ahead, and my journey began in 1978
